In a small town in India, where superstition and folklore intertwine with everyday life, three friends—Kabir, Riya, and Sameer—find themselves caught up in a series of supernatural events that flip their world upside down.
Kabir, a skeptical but adventurous photographer, arrives in the town on an assignment to capture stories of rural India. Riya, a witty and fearless local guide, volunteers to show him around, while her quirky cousin Sameer tags along, more interested in meeting ghosts than avoiding them.
While exploring, they hear rumors about “Kakuda,” a spirit said to haunt a nearby forest. The legend goes that Kakuda is a restless soul, wandering in search of an ancient lost love. Anyone who ventures into the forest alone is bound to encounter mysterious illusions and might never come out the same. Dismissing it as mere superstition, Kabir insists they visit the forest to snap some dramatic photos.
The trio sets out to the forest at dusk, joking and laughing about the ghost stories until strange things start to happen. They hear footsteps without anyone in sight, see shadows shifting in the trees, and find eerie symbols carved into the rocks. As the sun sets and darkness engulfs the forest, they realize they’re lost—and something is watching them.
Just as panic sets in, they encounter an elderly hermit who tells them the true story of Kakuda: a love that transcended life and death, a tragic betrayal, and a curse that binds the spirit to the forest until the ancient betrayal is forgiven.
Now desperate to escape, the friends must unravel the mystery and find a way to break the curse before they, too, become part of the legend. Along the way, they rely on their humor, courage, and unlikely friendships, discovering that sometimes laughter is the best way to overcome fear.
Filled with jump scares, unexpected twists, and lighthearted moments, Kakuda combines horror and comedy in a story about friendship, love, and the unknown secrets that lurk in forgotten places.
